1. Praise: Recognizing the Father
Scripture: Matthew 6:9– “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.”
Jesus teaches us that prayer should begin with worship. Before we present requests, we turn our
hearts toward who God is. Calling Him Our Father reminds us of His love and our place as His
children. To hallow His name is to revere every part of His character. He is faithful, merciful, holy,
and true.
When prayer starts with praise, we shift the focus from our burdens to His greatness. We see less of
our problems and more of His power.
Pause and Reflect: What name or attribute of God do you want to honour today in your prayer?
Prayer: Our Father, You are holy and worthy of all praise. Thank You for being close yet mighty,
gentle yet strong. Let my prayers begin in adoration and never lose the wonder of who You are. In
Jesus name, Amen.
2. Purpose: Aligning with His Will
Scripture: Matthew 6:10– “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
Prayer draws our hearts into God’s purpose. It is not about convincing Him to do what we want but
surrendering so His will can shape our lives. We partner with heaven when we invite His rule into
our decisions, our communities, and our world.
God’s purpose is always redemptive. When we pray for His will, we open the door for His wisdom,
justice, and peace to take root in us.
Pause &Reflect: What area of your life needs to align with God’s will today?
Prayer: Our Father, let Your kingdom come in my thoughts, words, and actions. Teach me to live in
agreement with Your purpose. May my life reflect heaven’s values on earth. In Jesus name, Amen.
3. Provision: Trusting the Father’s Care
Scripture: Matthew 6:11– “Give us this day our daily bread.”
God delights in providing for His children. This line teaches us to depend on Him for what we need
today. He knows every physical, emotional, and spiritual need before we speak. Provision is not
about luxury but about sufficiency for the purpose He has given us. Our daily bread can also be our
daily assignment. We ask God to give us the task for today. For like Jesus, our food should be to do
His will. (John 4:34).
Key Insight: Jesus spoke of provision before pardon. God provides for us inspite of our sins. It’s
grace not perfection.
Pause &Reflect: Where do youneedtotrust God’s provision today?
Prayer: Our Father, thank You for meeting my needs today. Help me to fully rely on You without
fear or striving. I know You will provide what is necessary for the work You have called me to do.
In Jesus name, Amen.
4. Pardon: Living in Forgiveness
Scripture: Matthew 6:12– “Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.”
Forgiveness cleanses the heart. When we ask God to pardon us, we step into grace that heals shame
and restores fellowship. But forgiveness is not one-sided, we must forgive and we have been
forgiven. This is God’s command.
The forgiven should become forgivers. It can be hard sometimes, but prayer keeps the heart tender,
ready to extend the same mercy we have received.
Pause &Reflect: Is there someone you need to forgive to make roomfor peace in your heart?
Prayer: Our Father, thank You for forgiving my sins. I pray that You fill me with Your mercy. Teach
meto forgive freely and completely. Let grace replace resentment and love overcome pain. In Jesus
name, Amen.
5. Protection: Walking in His Covering
Scripture: Matthew 6:13– “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”
Every day we face unseen battles. This final part of the Lord’s Prayer invites God to lead us safely
and to shield us from harm. Protection is not only about safety but also about preservation of our
faith and our peace.
When we submit to Gods guidance, He places us beyond the reach of destruction. His protection is
not only around us; it is within us through the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Pause &Reflect: Where do you need God’s protection or wisdom today?
Prayer: Our Father, I pray that You protect my mind and my path. Keep me from temptation and
guide me in Your truth. Thank You for being my refuge and strength. In Jesus name, Amen.
