One More Day With the Frogs!

I have a confession. I sat with the Lord this morning, and there was an area in my life I knew I needed to address. I said to myself, I’d do it tomorrow. Then, the Holy Spirit reminded me of Pharaoh and I’m here to remind you too.

In Exodus 8, frogs had filled the land. They were everywhere. Frogs on the beds, in the food, in the homes. It was uncomfortable, chaotic and messy. So Pharaoh called Moses and begged for relief. Moses, in an almost surprising act of humility, said, “You may choose the time. When shall I pray for the frogs to leave?” (Exodus 8:9, paraphrased).

Pharaoh had the opportunity to say “Now.” But he didn’t. He said, “Do it Tomorrow.”

He chose one more day with the frogs.

This is one of those stories that should teach us an important life lesson. Why choose one more day in discomfort, one more day in a mess you no longer need to live in? Why stay another night with something God is already willing to remove?

It is so easy to laugh at Pharaoh from a distance …. Oh foolish Pharoah. But the truth is, we all do this. We know it’s time to heal. Time to forgive. Time to leave. Time to stop. Time to speak. Time to pray. But we delay. We say we’ll do it tomorrow or after this meeting, this weekend, this season…. We make excuses to live with our frogs for much longer than we need too. So, oh foolish us!

Jesus waits.
He waits with open arms.
He waits with healing in His wings.
He waits with answers we’re desperate for.
But still we delay.
He waits, because love does not override free will, He gives us a choice and everyday, we get to choose if we want to live with frogs.

“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28).

That’s what Jesus says. His invitation is now, available, within reach.

But many of us are still choosing “one more day.”
One more day in bitterness.
One more day avoiding that hard conversation. One more day pretending everything is fine.
One more day ignoring the call.
One more day numbing the pain.
One more day massaging the ego of unforgiveness.
One more day with a heart full of frogs!

I needed this reminder today, maybe you do too – You don’t have to sleep beside what God is ready to drive out. You don’t have to carry what Jesus already carried to the cross. You don’t have to wait for the perfect moment to be free.

Delay is not a lifestyle choice to embrace. Don’t give fear the final say. Don’t give procrastination the steering wheel and don’t give the enemy the satisfaction of your delay.

Use your free will wisely and choose freedom today. Get rid of the frogs now not tomorrow.

If the Lord is speaking, respond. If your heart is stirred, act. If the Holy Spirit is prompting, don’t silence Him with a “later.” Let today be the day the frogs are gone for good.

Let us Pray

Heavenly Father,

I pray that you forgive me for the times I have delayed what You called me to do. Help me recognise the weight of every moment You offer me. I surrender my fears, my excuses and my delays. I choose freedom. I choose obedience. I choose You. No more waiting. No more “tomorrow.” I respond today.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Someone in your world needs this today. Share this and be a blessing to them.

With Love,

Amanda.
