God doesn’t just forgive, He forgets too. That’s something many of us struggle to grasp. We accept His forgiveness, but we still live as though the stain of our past lingers. Yet Scripture tells us clearly in Isaiah 43:25, “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.”

If God has chosen not to remember, why do we keep bringing it back?

The truth is, while God forgets, the enemy remembers and he’s quick to remind us. Guilt is one of his favorite tools. It doesn’t heal. It doesn’t lead to growth. It simply punishes. Guilt is unproductive. It keeps you stuck, cycling through old regrets, rehearsing what you should have done, and carrying a weight that no longer belongs to you.

The problem is that guilt feels justified. You think you’ re being responsible by holding yourself accountable, but what you ’ re really doing is keeping yourself in a prison that God has already unlocked.

The Holy Spirit will convict. That’s His role, to guide, to correct, to point us back to truth. But He never condemns. Conviction says, “Come back, there’s more for you.” Condemnation says, “Stay where you are, you’re not worthy.” One leads to repentance. The other leads to shame.

Romans 8:1 reminds us, “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” That is for you. Gods truth. Believe it!

So do yourself a favor and let go of yesterday’s mistake. If there’s a lesson in it, take the lesson and leave the guilt. You don’t need to carry what Jesus already carried to the cross.

Put down that weight of guilt today, It’s too heavy to carry. Love,

Amanda
