I find so much comfort and strength in discovering God’s character in His Word. Every verse that reveals His faithfulness reminds me who He truly is.

One that stands out is 2 Kings 8:19 (NLT): “But the Lord did not want to destroy Judah, for He had promised his servant David that his descendants would continue to rule, shining like a lamp forever.”

At that point in Scripture, Judah was ruled by a wicked king named Jehoram. He had turned away from God, followed the example of King Ahab, and even married one of Ahab’ s daughters. His leadership led Judah into idolatry and sin. By all accounts, the nation deserved judgment. Yet God spared them. Why? Because He had made a promise to David and God keeps His word.

That moves me deeply. It shows me that even when people fail, God’s faithfulness does not. Even when circumstances fall apart, His covenant remains. God’s promises are not fragile or conditional. They stand because He is unchanging and true to Himself.

This truth gives me courage to face uncertain times. It strengthens my heart to know that the same God who kept His word to David will keep His word to me.

“God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind.” Numbers 23:19

Think about it for a moment…. an entire nation was spared because of one man’s relationship with God. David’s obedience and devotion created a legacy that outlived him for generations.

It makes me wonder: who might be covered, protected, or blessed because of your relationship with God? What homes, families, or even communities might experience mercy because you walk closely with Him?

The Bible reminds us that our relationship with God carries influence beyond what we see. Judah was protected because of David’ s covenant, but we are protected through a greater promise, the covenant sealed by the blood of Jesus. Through Him, we are heirs to promises that can never be broken.

“ For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God. ” 2 Corinthians 1:20

So today, whatever you’re going through, hold on to this truth. God has not forgotten what He said.

His word does not expire. His promises do not fail. Remember the cross. Remember the empty tomb. Remember that Jesus is the living proof that God keeps His promises.

And when you feel weary, rest in that.

With Love,

Amanda
